MacBride authors children’s book for morgue

1 Mins read

skeletonbob540One of Scotland’s darkest, most blood-curdling authors – Stuart MacBride – has written a children’s book. The Completely Wholesome Adventures of Skeleton Bob features a cartoon character created by the Aberdeen-based writer, and has been published in a special limited hardback edition to raise funds for the Million for a Morgue campaign.

MacBride has talked about Skeleton Bob, who is not to be mistaken for the Olympic event, at public appearances and used the character for his Twitter profile picture. However this is the character’s first outing in print. The book features three stories – Skeleton Bob’s First Day at School, Skeleton Bob and the Witches Hat, and Skeleton Bob’s Bedtime Story. The character loves wearing a pink knitted jumper and has a knack for finding trouble. Though skeletal, he certainly sounds more wholesome than MacBride’s other lead characters – Logan McRae and Ash Henderson.

Along with numerous other writers including Harlan Coben, Val McDermid, Lee Child and Kathy Reichs, Stuart MacBride has been helping raise funds for the Million for a Morgue charity. Sales of Skeleton Bob will go towards a sparkling new forensics facility at the Centre for Anatomy and Human Identification at the University of Dundee. The campaign closes 1 March – so if you want a copy of The Completely Wholesome Adventures of Skeleton Bob click here straight away or use the Amazon link below. The book costs £10.99 including P&P.
